Carey is professor of biblical studies and department chair of biblical studies at Point University. A graduate of Point and of Asbury Theological Seminary, she and her husband, Warren, moved to Scotland in the fall of 2004, where she earned her PhD in New Testament and Christian Origins at the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Larry Hurtado. Her publications include Jesus’ Cry from the Cross: Towards a First-century Understanding of the Intertextual Relationship between Psalm 22 and the Narrative of Mark’s Gospel (T & T Clark, 2009), as well as several articles and essays.
