Bauer holds the Ralph W. Beeson Chair of Inductive Biblical Studies and serves as dean of the School of Biblical Interpretation at Asbury Theological Seminary. An ordained elder in the Ohio Conference of the Free Methodist Church, he is the author or editor of seven books, the most recent being The Gospel of the Son of God: An Introduction to Matthew (IVP Academic, 2019).
