Arnold, an elder in The United Methodist Church, is the Paul S. Amos Professor of Old Testament Interpretation, Asbury Theological Seminary. He wrote the commentary on Genesis for the New Cambridge Bible Commentary Series (Cambridge University Press, 2009) and was associate editor for The Wesley Study Bible(Abingdon, 2011, 2013).
