Starling teaches New Testament at Morling College in Sydney, Australia. He was previously a Baptist pastor in the inner-western suburbs of Sydney and currently serves as a member of the Baptist World Alliance’s Commission on Doctrine and Christian Unity. He is the author of <em>Hermeneutics as Apprenticeship</em> (Baker Academic, 2016), <em>UnCorinthian Leadership</em> (Cascade, 2014), and <em>Not My People: Gentiles as Exiles in Pauline Hermeneutics</em> (de Gruyter, 2011).
